Art Director — Brand Design, Packaging & Creative Strategy

I’m Efe Can Akar, an Istanbul-based Art Director working across brand identity, packaging, and visual communication.

My work moves between shaping the visual direction of a project and making sure the details hold up in production. I’ve developed brand identities, built packaging systems across product ranges, and created print, digital, and motion assets for clients in different markets.

At Pin Drinks, I led a two-person creative team and oversaw design work from briefs through final approvals. While working at BAL Agency, I was embedded in La Lorraine Bakery Group’s regional marketing team, handling art direction for marketing materials and working directly with its Regional Marketing Director.

Since March 2024, I’ve also been running my independent creative practice, working directly with clients on brand, packaging, and communication projects. Depending on the scope, I handle the design myself or bring in project-based collaborators.

My portfolio brings together commercial work and self-initiated projects. Across both, I’m interested in how a visual idea becomes a coherent identity and carries through to the materials people actually see and use.
